Hysteroscopy is the exam of the inside of the cervix and uterus using a thin , lighted ,flexible tube called a hysteroscope. Gynecologist inserts the device through the vagina. Doctor may use hysteroscopy to take a tissue sample ( biopsy), remove the polyps and fibroid tumors.
Diagnostic hysteroscopy is used to diagnose problems of the uterus. Diagnostic hysteroscopy is also used to confirm results of other tests, such as hysterosalpingography.
After procedure patient will probably be able to go back to most of their activities in 1 or 2 days.
During hysteroscopy, instruments inserted through the hysteroscope, your doctor uses to see inside the uterus, make it possible to remove the polyps, myomas.
It can be use to remove intrauterin device , to correct the septum of the uterus .
All procedure must be done in operation room , under general anesthesia .
